Last night, hundreds of parents, teachers, and students packed the cafeteria at Madison High School for Gov. Kitzhaber’s town hall on education.
Here’s KGW’s recap (featuring a cameo by Our Oregon):
One of the highlights of the evening was Gov. Kitzhaber voicing support for capping deductions for wealthy households, and signaling support to one audience member who was holding a sign that read “End Corporate Tax Breaks.”
The whole event lasted about an hour and a half, and the first hour was dedicated to questions from the Portland School Board.
That meant that not everyone who showed up or submitted their question got an answer or the ability to tell their story.
So, Our Oregon has set up a webpage to allow you to tell your story about how education budget cuts have affected you. Go here to tell us about it!
